Sunshine Sparkle

With the sun finally making its way to greet us, I’ve realized how much I’ve missed some fresh sunshine. After months of gloomy weather, it is refreshing to encounter some bright weather. Our English class got to experience this weather today, when we went outside to work on our assignments.

Apart from being a pleasant change of scenery, sunshine often adds a sparkle to monotone days. These gloomy days can, in severe cases for some, lead to seasonal affective disorder, otherwise known as SAD (quite a fitting acronym). In addition, we often feel much lazier and more lethargic during these winter months.


Thankfully, with the official start of spring in just under a week, we’ll have some sun to celebrate. In addition to better weather, sunshine leads to better moods and reduces stress according to a 2014 study at University of Michigan. The leader of this study also mentions that warmer weather can help elicit creative skills and improved memory.



With all of these benefits and the sun coming out more, make sure to add a little sparkle to your day by soaking in some sunshine.
