Meddling with Magic

Even since I was young, I've always been intrigued by magic tricks. I knew it was just clever misdirection, but it still piqued my interest. However, performing magic tricks seemed even cooler than spectating them. Plus, magic tricks sounded like a great party trick. Unfortunately, laziness got the better of me for the past couple of years. Until just a few days ago, I had never even attempted to learn any magic tricks.

I figured I would start with simple coin magic tricks, because they didn't seem to be too complex. They would also be performable almost anywhere and anytime, because it's not too difficult to get a coin. After a bit of Googling, I found a few beginner tutorials to help me get started.
My first couple of attempts were quite pathetic. I knew I would be pretty bad at this at first, so my initial failures weren’t that discouraging for me, although I had never realized how inept I was with coins. I would have to get a lot better at holding and moving a coin before I could begin any magic tricks.
Learning magic tricks, including the simple ones, isn’t just a one-time event. Even after a few days, I still wasn’t able to successfully perform a magic trick. It
takes quite a bit of practice and persistence to improve. If I get the time later on, I’ll try to work on it some more, and hopefully I’ll be able to get the hang of a trick, even if it's a small one.
