We've continued to practice rhetorical analysis in our English class by analyzing an article in support of video games. In the article, the author mentions Mario Kart, which brought a spark of excitement in me, as Mario Kart Wii is one of my favorite games. Although the game isn't completely revolutionary, the game has been alive for over 13 years! Similar to how Super Smash Bros. Melee has survived for so long, the gaming fanbase has carried Mario Kart Wii through these years.

This led me to wonder how this is reflected in public reviews of the game, from both 2008 and recent years. Many of the reviews from when the game released heavily focused on the fun experience of the game.

"The offline and online content is extremely entertaining and the pursuit of casual and hardcore karting has never been this much fun."

However, the more recent reviews primarily focus on the community formed from Mario Kart Wii. A great example is this video review: https://youtu.be/he2q4vzU7XU. The video mentions many influential gamers and projects corresponding with Mario Kart Wii.

These have been able to reel and maintain the attention of many fans, including myself. A video that particularly stands out to me is this compilation celebration video for the 7th anniversary of the game.

This video was from 6 years ago, and the limits of the game have been stretched way further since. With the support from the gamers, Mario Kart Wii remains strong and alive.
