They can help to motivate us when we grow weary, as we fix our eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel. Psychologists worldwide promote the use of goals as they encourage a variety of good habits. If you're looking to set a goal, but don't know how, check out how to make SMART goals at

We can, and should, set goals in all aspects of our lives. In our English class, we set goals for our pleasure reading this quarter. These goals instill a sense of purpose in our reading. In addition to this English goal, I had another academic goal outside of school. This goal started from a small thought and idea that slowly emerged into a desire.
With a goal in mind, I grinded towards it. I spent hours and hours preparing in the hopes of making my desire a reality. Some months were more rough than others, as my motivation stumbled along, but I persevered.
Then the culmination of all of this arrived. My only chance at achieving this goal had come and... I failed. After all these months, my desire had been demolished. This goal that I had set didn't lead to initial success. Despite the failure, I need to endure and build perseverance, which will result in character. Feel free to share any quick pieces of advice (preferably non-cliche) about recovering from failure with the "Let's Chat!" button on the website.
